The Prosperity Partnership is convening a meeting for the military cluster at PSRC this morning. Military and defense contracting activities sustained approximately 191,000 jobs and $12.2 billion in total output in Washington for FY 2009, nearly 4% of the state’s overall gross domestic product. However, the state is only 26th in the nation when it comes to military contracting. Today’s meeting is about better connecting local companies with the military community, particularly with regards to the region’s burgeoning clean tech industry.
